To create an engaging animation that visually represents Cwmpas’ mission of supporting cooperatives, social businesses, and community enterprises while inspiring their audience to get involved.

Cwmpas is a Wales-based cooperative development agency dedicated to building a fairer economy through innovative support for social enterprises and community-led initiatives.

Creative Process

  • Research: I conducted research on Cwmpas’ mission, values, target audience (cooperative leaders, social entrepreneurs, and community members), and the cooperative sector to gain a deeper understanding of their brand and industry.
  • Storyboarding: Using insights from my research, I created a series of storyboards to explore different animation concepts and narrative directions.
  • Animation Design: After reviewing the storyboards with the client, I developed the initial animation sequences using industry-standard software.
  • Refinement: I refined the chosen animation based on Cwmpas’ feedback, making small adjustments to ensure it effectively conveyed their mission and resonated with their audience.
  • Finalization: I delivered the final animated video in various formats to ensure it was suitable for digital platforms, presentations, and promotional use.

    Results

    The new animation accurately represented Cwmpas’ values of community empowerment and sustainability, appealing to their target audience. The organisation reported increased engagement on their digital platforms, positive feedback from their community network, and the animation was featured in several regional cooperative events and online campaigns.

    Through careful research and a collaborative design process, I was able to create a unique and effective animation that met Cwmpas’ objectives and helped them to promote their mission of building a fairer economy.
